The My Nintendo section on Nintendo of America's website has just gone live! The rewards haven't gone live yet and you can't login either, but it looks like we won't have to wait much longer! Here's the link to the main page: http://www.nintendo.com/my-nintendo/
The Japanese service is live though! The rewards include full VC titles, Twilight Princess Picross, exclusive 3DS themes, the DLC for Pikmin 3, discounts for certain titles ranging from 20-50% off, and "game tickets" for use in Miitomo.
Worth noting that both Gold and Platinum point can be used for the rewards. Gold points appear to be worth more than Platinum points, as the rewards that require Gold points are generally less than the ones for Platinum points (90 Gold Points vs 950 Platinum points for example).
My Nintendo also has several "Missions" for you to do that'll earn you points, which ranges from things like purchasing digital games to simply logging in to the eShop once a week, as well as doing stuff in Miitomo.
Rumour has it that a Wii U and 3DS update might be coming on Monday alongside the North American and European launch of My Nintendo! This rumour hasn't been reported by an official source yet so take it with a mountain of salt, but remember that there's really substantial network maintenance on Monday so that might well be a precursor to My Nintendo's launch.
@Neko_Ichigofan: Hope this rumor is right...I want to play legends but also want to get those coins =w= other then that I will try to get as much coins as I can get.
W00t the My Nintendo placeholder website is now under maintenance as is the Wii U and 3DS eShops! I think that the rewards program might be launching at Midnight tonight!
So now that it is actually live, I see the spend X amount for Gold Coins. Do those Stack? If I Spend $60 on a game do I get everything below that much? If not then how are we supposed to be able to spend $70 or more? There isn't anything on the eShop more than $59.99 I think.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Also there's no secret missions in North America, plus the discounts are absolutely awful in our region, 5-20% less of a discount than Europe gets for the select games...

I noticed I got 30 Platinum coins for logging into my Nintendo Account on Nintendo's main website, even though that mission is not listed anywhere in the missions list. It also says it's a weekly thing. Maybe there are others that we haven't noticed yet?
Also probably a stupid question, but will I be able to use the Super Luigi DLC if I no longer have NSMB Wii U (I traded it in a while ago)? I'm assuming not, but since my Wii U has the save data on it and the Luigi U has been released as a stand-alone game, I thought it might be possible.

No, it is DLC for the full game.

So glad to know that this thread title is finally true.
I dig My Nintendo so far. To compare it to Club Nintendo, it looks like we still get straight-up digital game downloads (on a rotating schedule, I assume) with better options (i.e. Wii games have been added), plus we have more options for spending (discounts, exclusive digital games, themes, DLC, in-game content, etc.). I also really like the "Mission" format — lots of stuff to do, and I can already see myself getting addicted to that. I hope to see lots more Missions and further game integration (beyond just Miitomo) in the future — and as far as I know, that's the plan.
I can see being disappointed if you were really into the physical rewards of Club Nintendo, but I personally never was. For me, this is an improvement in just about every way.
Yeah, I much prefer actual games rather than some knickknack that will just collect dust on a shelf somewhere. If that link for entering codes means that they will eventually come in physical releases, I think this is much better than Club Nintendo was.
